About Hospice.
Hospice of Gladwin Area, Inc., coordinates a wide range of services in a
unique fashion to meet the special needs of the dying patients and their
families. Hospice is different from traditional care in that while it
cares for the patient, concern is also focused on the whole family.
With proper guidance, the family learns to build on the experience so that
everyone copes, and even learns to grow. Loneliness and isolation are
turned around and replaced by understanding and acceptance.
Physical, spiritual, emotional, and social care are provided through a
hospice team, which helps both the family and the patient through this
difficult time.
Hospice of Gladwin Area, Inc., is a volunteer, non-profit organization
dedicated to providing support services to terminally ill individuals and
their caregivers in and around Gladwin County.
What is a Hospice team?

day, 7 days a week.
- supplements care provided by the patient's own
physician and nursing agency.
- enables patients to remain at home, if that is
where they choose to be, living as normal a life as possible.
- emphasizes control of pain and other symptoms.
- offers emotional and spiritual support.
- provides respite care so that families can have
time to renew emotional and physical energies.
